Meet the Expert: Wendy J. Dahl
Wendy J. Dahl, PhD, RD, FDC, is an Assistant Professor in the Food Science and Human Nutrition Department at the University of Florida.
Tell us one interesting fact about yourself.
As long as I can remember people have thought I am younger than I am, the usual guess is about 8-10 years! And no surgery or Botox!
What three words best describe you?
Determined, resilient and positive.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I run – outside, through the forest when possible. In Florida, there is just no excuse to not get outside and get some exercise.
What are you currently working on?
About a dozen different research and extension projects – some are in the planning stage – others at the writing up stage.
If you could have one superpower what would it be?
I would trade any superpower for time travel.
What’s the last good book you read?
It’s an old book and I am not sure if “good” describes it, but it was somewhat interesting, and I expect that anyone who has tried to figure out relationships should read at least the first half of Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus. If only I had read it at 18!
What are you most passionate about?
Teaching and writing – I plan to write books when I retire.
