Tell us one interesting fact about yourself.
I didn’t used to eat seafood until I started working on a halibut farm!
What do you do in your free time?
Personally, I enjoy exercising, cooking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
What are you currently working on?
Currently I am working on building my research program, so I am planning new research projects and experiments. I am particularly interested in fatty acid nutrition in fish, and how farmed fish are an important source of omega-3s for human consumption.
What are you passionate about related to your area of expertise?
Aquaculture is a way to grow seafood without depleting the ocean. I have always been passionate about marine life. Aquaculture can reduce pressure that we place on our ocean resources. I enjoy working in a field that is challenging and forward thinking and can benefit society.
